Press centre
The Press and Public Affairs Section works with local, national and regional media to publicise information about Britain and British Government policies in Iraq. It offers press, radio and television services for journalists, and offers a range of general information and free publications about the UK and British culture. It also offers a public diplomacy outreach programme and information on Chevening Scholarships.
We provide various services to the media. If you are looking for the latest speech by a senior government official, or need guidance on a particular British government policy, please contact us. We can also help you to arrange an interview with the British Ambassador or a visiting British official or politician.
The following background documents provide further information on Iraq:
Press Pack (PDF, 76Kb)
United Nations Security Council resolution 1546 (PDF, 55Kb)
Transitional Administrative Law (PDF, 80Kb)
Annex to the Transitional Administrative Law (PDF, 12Kb)
You can find further information on British government policy on Iraq on the FCO website.
The Press and Public Affairs Section is also the Embassy's general enquiry point (except for consular, visa and travel advice enquiries where you should contact the relevant section of the Embassy). We can answer simple questions on the spot, but others require more research and it may take us a couple of days to process them. We have a range of publications on various aspects of life in the UK, in print or on CDs.
